Skateboarding makes a comeback
By: Ian Owdom- Edior-in-Chief
Skateboarding first became a fad around 1969. It managed to remain popular for quite some time. Though lack of safety precautions and inability to turn abruptly turned skaters away from it, especially the poor quality of the wheels. These issues along with many others, lead to the extinction of skating for the time. However, after years of development and evolution, the world of skating is now a widespread sport/activity.
Now that wheels are of higher quality, falls are a lot less common, and injury is no longer a large issue as long as you are wearing the correct protective safety gear. Make sure you wear, at the bare minimum, a helmet to protect from head injury.
New and improved skateboards range anywhere from $80-$100 plus, and come with various designs on the underside. The new upgrades are bound to make any capable skater great!
