Jack the Ripper

The Jack the Ripper Murders is one of the more common but still astonishing mystery murder cases. One of the many reasons this is a mystery specifically is because no one knows for sure who did it. Many people, like researchers and historians even, have speculations or educated guesses on who possibly committed these murders but there is no concrete evidence. These murders took place in the East End, London, a smaller area. Specifically, poor and higher crime rate areas, in 1888. There were a canonical five victims, however there could be more if jack the ripper was also the cause of the Whitechapel murders. There is no exact amount of victims because this killer was never caught. Which in my opinion is amazing how this person could kill more than five people and probably live without being brought to justice. The reason why this person is referred to as “Jack the Ripper” is because the famous ‘Dear Boss’ letter. This letter was sent in late September 1888 to the central news office. The likelihood of it actually being sent by the killer is unlikely now but was still believed by police back then.

Lizzie Borden Case

The Lizzie Borden murders have always been the mystery of whether Lizzie murdered her family. I personally do believe she murdered her parents, as unfortunate as that is. On August 11th, 1992, 32-year-old Lizzie Borden was arrested for the murder of her father, Andrew, and her stepmother, Abby. Abby was the first to be murdered, and she was reported to have 19 blows to the head from a hatchet. Shortly afterwards, before 11:15 a.m., her father had also been murdered. After her trial in 1993, Lizzie Borden was supposedly wrongly acquitted of the murder charges.

Between 9-10 a.m., Abby had gone up the stairs to the second floor to continue cleaning, but when Lizzie entered the dining room to quickly visit her father, she tells him Abby left after she had received a message. The lack of certain information creates the suspicious circumstances that make up the story today. Lizzie had been reported to have stopped calling her stepmother ‘mother,’ pointing out a possible crack in their relationship. When Abby had gone to the doctors claiming she had been poisoned, it was reported that Lizzie had attempted and failed to buy poison from Eli B. Lizzie had a very clear underlying hatred for Abby, and resentment for her father.
