Having a Ball

Move over Harry and Megan; there’s some new royalty in town. Jermaine Schexnayder and Josselyn Sandoval.
The Fresno High Senate held its 2023 Winter Formal; themed The Blizzard Ball. It was held at Severance Dance Studios. The dance took place on January 28, from 7:00pm to 10:00pm. Tickets went on sale January 18, and cost $25. 200 tickets were sold... the max capacity that Severance can hold!
Students needed to have the Minga app downloaded in preparation to get in the event. Mrs. Orgill reemphasized, “Make sure to be prepared at the door with your ticket and the Minga app opened.”
At the event, students danced to DJ Adam Haro and enjoyed nibbles of mini cupcakes and salty snack bags. Lifetouch was available to take professional photos for a fee, and Ms. Mianne Sciacqua was there snapping photos for the yearbook and newspaper. When 10pm rolled around and the staff turned on the lights, actual “boos” were heard.
Vice Principals, counselors, Campus Assistants, and numerous FHS teachers were on hand to chaperone, but students seemed focus on the music and friends rather than stirring up any trouble. Royalty was crowned around 9pm. Congratulations to Josselyn Sandoval and Jermaine Schexnayder.
