Homecoming Overview

Fresno High’s Homecoming took place on September 8 at McLane Stadium. The football team played Morro Bay. Royalty is traditionally announced during the Varsity halftime. The only difference this year is that underclassmen were announced between the JV and Varsity games. The 2023 Hoco Royalty winners were Juniors: Vanitey Castro and Jourdan Samora, Soph: Laila Castro and Remmy Galicia, Frosh: Brittany Thomas and Angelina Zepeda, and Seniors: Adrian Alonso and Jiovanni Ordonez.
The skits for each year were cinema inspired film skits were Super Mario for the Class of 2027, Fast and Furious for the Class of 2026, Jurassic Park for the Class of 2025, and Barbie for the Class of 2024. The Class of 2024 was victorious as the winner. BSU Dance Team also performed. The skits made everyone in the crowd cheer and laugh while waiting for the team to come back for the second part of the game.
JV tied with the Morro Bay team: 28-28. Things didn’t go quite as well with Varsity. The first half of the game was a battle, but the Warriors started turning things around in the second half. In the end, the Varsity team finished 16-13.
JV Football Ties 28-28

Fresno High started off with the ball, but they did not keep for long. After only a few plays, a fumble happened and Morro Bay got possession of the ball. Proceeding with it they got a touchdown and a field goal, putting the score to 0-7. Getting the ball kicked back to Fresno High, two plays happened and they fumble the ball again, with Morro Bay picking it up once again, only a few plays and the games 0-13. That checked 1st quarter to 0-13.
Right off the bat, in the 2nd quarter, Morro Bay scored another touchdown with the two extra points, putting the game to 0-21. Back to Fresno High, they went in with a run in passing to number 4 ,getting the touch down, and going for the 2-pointer, making the game 8-21. Morro Bay got the ball and pushed up before half time, getting a touchdown and field goal setting the 2nd quarter 8-28.
The 3rd quarter began and Fresno was at the 42-yard line due to the kickoff. Then, in the second play, number 2 passed it to number 6 who ran across the whole field, making it and getting the extra two points with the score 21-28. Kicking the ball to Morro Bay, the Warriors decided to do a Onside Kick and it worked perfectly. Fresno High got possession of the ball. FHS made another touch down no extra two points game 22-28. Then FHS did it again. Another Onside Kick, working out and Fresno High getting the ball again. Fresno High ran it all to score another 6 points, making the game tie 28-28.
The 4th quarter ended with Fresno High and Morro Bay back at each other with the tied game. Both of them got close to each other’s end zones. but put a stop to each other. With time running out with the Warriors with the ball, Fresno got close to their end zone but did not make it. The game came out tie to 28-28.
