CA FEATURE

Patricia Jurado, or known to Fresno High students as Mrs. Patty is one of the on-campus CAs. She was born in Kingsburg, California. She attended Sanger High School in Sanger, California. Mrs. Patty has worked at Fresno High School for a year and a half. Before working at Fresno High, she worked in many other schools. She worked at Carver Academy for 11 years, Bullard High for 7 years, Cambridge High for 5 years, and Air Elementary for two years. Before coming to Fresno High, she was at Fort Miller for 10 years. This is where a lot of Fresno High students first met her.
She wasn't always a CA. For five years, she worked at a facility that helped trafficked teenage girls. She was also a manager at a Mcdonalds for seven years. Her favorite part about her job is being able to form bonds with the students she meets. She also enjoys being able to watch as they grow throughout their years in high school. She said she loves being able to watch them change from Freshman year to Senior year. Her least favorite thing about her job is having to get to work so early in the morning. In her spare time, she likes to read a lot of different books and spend some time with her 10-year-old niece. She also enjoys volunteering her time to help the elderly.
Halloween
by Julianna Kirk
Halloween is an exciting holiday with many ways to celebrate. There are costumes, haunted houses, trick or treating, and plenty of candy. To celebrate this ghoulish holiday, Fresno High students were able to dress up in their costumes and show off some Halloween spirit. “I’m actually really happy I dressed up today,” said Destiny Lopez. “I didn’t expect to see this many people dressed up. It kinda reminds me of those early Halloween Disney movies.”
Every year Fresno High’s Drama Club puts on their annual Horrortorium, a terrifying guided walk of the theater room and its basement. Phoebe Trevino said, “I really liked the Horrortorium this year, in the previous years I’ve came to this I didn’t get scared but this year I think I got scared like, four times.”
Band Robbery
By Hugo Meza
On October 24, the Fresno High School Marching Band’s brand-new truck was stolen, literally the same night the truck was purchased. That same night the truck was hijacked and stolen from the south side parking lot. The person who stole the truck is unknown.
In early November the truck was found illegally parked somewhere and was towed away. When they found the truck the passenger side window was smashed. The culprit hotwired the truck and decided to steal the radio, afterwards abandoning the vehicle.
Mr. Reynolds, the band teacher, informed his band members that the truck would take a few months to be repaired and returned to them.
“We can’t have anything good in Fresno,” band member Ethan Alvarez commented on the situation.
