by Allie Haprov
Dominic Hernandez, affectionately known as Dom, is an 18-year-old senior at Fresno High School, where he actively participates in wrestling and baseball. A lifelong sports enthusiast, he began playing baseball at the age of three and took up wrestling at five. In wrestling, he competes in all positions, while in baseball, he excels as a shortstop, second baseman, and pitcher.
Despite his busy sports schedule, Dom prioritizes his faith as a Catholic, attending church every Sunday at his local parish. He also enjoys going for runs while listening to music, finding that sports provide a much-needed escape from reality and serve as a source of calm.
One of Dominic’s greatest sources of motivation is his parents. He expressed, “I want to make a better life for my family,” acknowledging the many sacrifices they have made to support his athletic endeavors. He draws immense inspiration from both his mom and dad, aiming to show his appreciation and gratitude for their unwavering support.
