New Librarian Sabrina White

by Joshua Butz

Sabrina White is the new Librarian here at Fresno High School. She comes from a small family, and she was born in San Pedro. She wanted to be a lawyer when she was growing up. Sabrina believes her best quality is her smile, and she is not married or has any children.

She attended Inglewood, Morningside, and Lawndale High. During her attendance she was involved in track and cross country. She participated in several marathons, plays, and was part of the lunch box crew (a club which would build things). Her favorite class through high school was Physical education. She attended classes at Southwest College during high school.

She attended classes at Fresno City college while enrolled at Fresno State. She also went to San Jose State, where she got her 2nd masters and her credentials. She has a degree in English and communications, and a master's in education and library informative science. She was previously a tutor/teacher at Edison high.

Her biggest inspiration is her grandmother, because she believed you can do anything you set your mind to. In 10 years from now she sees herself in a sprinter van camped out at a mountain drinking tea with her cat.

Car of the Month

by Levi Gagliano Bingham

Mireya Alicia Ruiz is a senior at Fresno High school, and she owns a 2001 Honda Civic that is a dark purple. Her father got it for her at the end of last year, and it is uninsured with Geico, paid by her mom as well as gas. Mireya washes her car once a week and likes to keep it clean. To pay for other expenses Mireya makes art and jewelry to sell at art hop in downtown.

Mimi drives to all sorts of places but mainly to get her to school, or friends. She attends the Center of advanced technology and research which is 15-20 minutes away, she also travels to work and other events. Sadly, though, she did get into a tiny accident on the corner of McKinley and Moroa in September, which left the front of her car indented. A woman tried to go straight in a turning zone and didn’t see Mireya in her blind spot, hitting her.

Mimi loves her car because she believes it represents her, she loves the color, and it also gives her freedom. Although, her dream car would be a light pink or black Dodge Challenger Hellcat. In a way she thinks driving is calming as well.
