LBP Dress Up Days

by Ashton Liberty

The Little Big Pig Spirit Week happens the week of the Little Pig Game. This week is dedicated to showing school spirit before the football player brings home the Pig. The dress up days change every year.

Monday on the 2024-25 spirit week there was Sock, Crocs, and Birkenstocks Day.

Tuesday was BBQ Dads VS Soccer Moms.

Wednesday was Extreme Pink where students go all out in pink attire.

Since Thursday was Halloween, it was Spooky Pig Day, costumes and pig outfits.

And finally, Friday which was Western Day where students wear western outfits.

Kids were made aware of this week by a class meeting schedule and various posters advertising it.

Beautify Fresno Clean Up

by Ian Owdom

Periodically, Beautify Fresno will make efforts to clean up the community by teaming up staff and students at Fresno High to clean up trash. The JROTC participates in each clean up, spearheading the way, setting an example for others. They divide into groups with student leaders, before dispersing into different neighborhoods around Fresno High. For example, Omar Caro led group 4.

There were 5 areas amongst 4 groups. Area 1: Palm to Yale to Farris to Mckinley. Area 2: Campus area plus West Side of Echo. Area 3: East side of Echo to Vassar to Wishon to Mckinley. Area 4: South side of Mckinley to Farris to Pine to Wilson. Area 5: South side of Mckinley to Roosevelt to Pine to Wishon.

On November 2 at 9:30 am the hunt began. Armed with claws, trash bags, and gloves groups were released into neighborhoods. Quickly trash bags began to fill up as the Fresno litter began to depreciate. Around 11 o’clock amounts of trash have severely depreciated on a successful clean up by beautify Fresno. Liam Wright said, “It’s too early to be out here, I can’t wait to go home and play Deepwoken.”
