Band Hosts Carnival Fun

by Conor Hustedde

The Band Carnival was held May 6, 2022, in Warrior Park, from 4 to 8 p.m. It had a multitude of vendors and performing groups throughout the evening. Performances included Winter Guard, Winter Percussion, Hamilton’s 7th and 8th grade band, students from Fort Miller, Fresno High’s Band, two local bands, and a local dance group performing the “Dance of the Devil.”  There was also a taco truck, and local vendors and Fresno High clubs which sold items like churros, tumbler cups, and ice cream. Performances were done in front of the steps leading to Royce Hall, and vendors were inside the fence line on the grass.

The purpose of the carnival was to fundraise for the band, and director Mr. Reynolds considers it a success. Throughout the evening, over 300 people attended the event. There were also Fresno High alumni who came to visit, and a silent auction of old artifacts from the Fresno High Band.

The event was organized by band director Mr. Reynolds and the Warrior Booster Club, an organization consisting of parents whose students are currently in the band. Though this was Mr. Reynold’s first time organizing the event, he intends to continue this annual tradition and grow the carnival in the coming years.
