Meeting the New Fresno High Faculty Part 1

Ms. Taron Salcedo

Ms. Taron Salcedo is an autism inclusion teacher, which focuses on social skills and inclusion. This is her first year in this position, but before she was a paraprofessional and a substitute teacher. She is loving it at Fresno High and said, “I feel like I landed in the right spot.” Last year, she taught at Sunnyside High School as a long-term sub.

Ms. Vicky Chang

The newest addition to Fresno High’s academic counselors is Ms. Vicky Chang. She has been in education for four years and a counselor for three, with her last job being a counselor at Fresno City College. Her favorite thing at Fresno High is seeing all the students applying for college, sharing with her their plans following high school, and helping them be better adults and make good choices. Her last job was as a counselor at Fresno City College.

Ms. Savannah Havens

Ms. Savannah Havens is in her first year as a teacher. She teaches English and is loving the people, the fun atmosphere, and the school's long history.

Mrs. Rubio Zarate

Mrs. Rubio Zarate is in her first year as a vice principal, although she has been an educator for 17 years. Her last position was as a campus culture director at Edison High School. She enjoys many aspects of Fresno High, like the positive interactions she has with students, talking to different groups of kids, the service opportunities like Beautify Fresno, and the nice staff and students.
