Holiday Dress Up Days
by Daisy Alvarado
The last week of school Fresno High had a Christmas Spirit Week. It began with Monday which was Holiday Headwear and Socks. Many students participated with their cute and silly head wear like hats and reindeer ears.
Then on Tuesday it was Staff vs. Student. Staff wore green and students wore white. During lunch students were able to go to the library and make their own ugly Christmas sweater.
Wednesday was Twin Holiday Dress Day. A lot of best friends though out campus wore their matching pajamas. The cold weather made this so fun and cozy.
Thursday was wear your Ugly Christmas Sweater. Students and staff were able to wear the ugly Christmas sweaters they made Tuesday, or they were able to bring their own.
Lastly, Friday was wear Holiday Pajamas. It was a minimum day and being able to wear pajamas on a cold day was a plus.
The whole week was on the colder side, but all students were excited to participate and to almost be done with this semester.
Door Decorating Contest 2021
by Kayla Madrigal
The Fresno High 2021 Door Decorating Contest was announced on November 11 and ended on December 15. Judging took place on December 15. Mrs. Melissa Bangerter (Mama B) oversaw this event. Many staff participated this year, like the counselors, attendance staff, and VPs. Fifth period teachers and their students were the primary focus. Multiple classes worked hard on their doors in the hope of winning the contest.
Leadership decided to hold this competition to help the Fresno High staff and students feel connected and bond with their classmates. The prize for the best door was the mysterious something “sweet.” Daniel Pursell (Sciacqua 5th period) believed they had a winning chance with their gingerbread house. “Working on the door was tough and was really confusing at first,” Daniel explained. “The measurements made it even harder because we have to get everything exactly right or it wasn't going to look right, but it ended up looking amazing.”
On December 15, a group of students decided who the winners, and by the end of the day, Ms. Jamie Anthony’s “Nightmare Before Christmas” inspired door took first place and Ms. Mianne Sciacqua’s gingerbread house took second place.

Tree Lighting Goes Virtual
by Daniel Pursell
And presence of COVID was once again felt at another Fresno High tradition. This time, the annual Christmas Tree Lighting was deemed too up close and personal and went virtual.
The Christmas Tree lighting had performances by band, choir, and cheer. Band and Choir both have their performances recorded during second period on Thursday December 2, 2021. Cheer recorded their performance after school on Monday December 6, 2021.
“Our performance was great, and I wish that people could be here in person,” said Cheer member Jazzy Alvarado.
The Tree Lighting was uploaded to YouTube on December 10, 2021, for anyone to watch it thanks to the hard work of the Warrior Entertainment class that filmed and edited the performances.
