Squishmallows

Squishmallows are an internet sensation amongst all ages, especially children. Squishmallows are these plushies that come with names and a story, of course consumers can change the name to whatever they want. There are over 1,000 different Squishmallows with different styles and textures. Squishmallows were launched in 2017 by Kelly Toys Holdings LLC with the first Squishmallow being Cam the Cat. These Squishmallows range from being $2.99 to $59.99, usually depending on the popularity of the plushie. As of 2023 the most popular Squishmallows are the Disney and Marvel characters.

Squishmallows have been in production for only years and have become so popular in such little time. Growing up I’ve always wanted a Squishmallow, but it was always way too expensive for me to buy. My bestfriends and I both wanted Squishmallows, but never had the chance to buy them ourselves.

It was her 16th birthday, and I had no clue what to get her. I was aimlessly roaming around the store, trying to decide what to get her. I stumbled across the toy section and saw a whole bin of Squishmallows. I remembered I had just gotten paid, so I thought a great present could be getting her one. After digging for what felt like forever, I not only found a mini, but a super cute Squishmallow to gift her. She was surprised that I was able to give her one. I told her when I get more money, I’d buy myself one and we could start a collection of them.

Personally, I prefer having the Halloween black cat pumpkin Squishmallow. I find it so cute with it combining both my love for Halloween and cats.

Terrifier: The best “Slasher” movie with the worst sequel. 

Terrifier is an American slasher movie. I watched the first movie during my freshman year and instantly loved it. It was the first slasher movie that left me scared. I was so scared; I could not sleep for two nights. When I found out that there would be a second movie, I was so excited. I did not know what to expect, I wondered if the second movie would include the last victim of Art the Clown. My prediction was that the victim would be trying to search for Art the Clown while he was playing tricks on her.  

The second movie came out in 2022. It was going well at first. Then in the last couple minutes it went completely downhill. The two main characters are a teenage girl and her little brother. In this scene, the girl gets pushed down this hole and lands in some water. It jump-cuts on her little brother, trying to fight off the clown, and then jump-cuts back to her. Suddenly, out of nowhere, the teenage girl gets superpowers.  

Where did the superpowers come from? It made no sense to add to a slasher movie. She comes back alive and can now defeat Art the Clown. It was not necessary to give her superpowers. I personally believe that if the little boy were one who defeated Art the Clown it would have made the movie better than the ending, they gave us. It would have been unpredictable but with the whole wannabe marvel and slasher move was very odd. Hopefully the third movie is better than the second, considering that it will be a Christmas slasher movie.
