Honor Court is Coming
by Nick Bonilla
The Honor Court (formerly Daisy Chain) is a tradition at Fresno High and many other high schools. The honor is for juniors. In the past, only female students were nominated, but as times have become more enlightened, the privilege is for all students who meet the GPA and extracurricular requirement and who live the Warrior Way.
How it works is that juniors are first nominated by teachers and then selected by a panel of unbiased advisors/coaches for their outstanding academic and exemplary character. Traditionally, 20 students are selected, though the number may vary higher or lower, depending on the year.
The juniors play a special role in the graduation ceremony, dressed in white, escorting the graduating class to their future, and stepping into their role as seniors. Students will know who will take part in Honor Court and will receive their invitation in early May.
