Fresno High Softball started their season off a little slowly, and their playoff hopes looked slim. But looks can be deceiving. With a lot of confidence and even more hard work, these Warriors turned the table on their opponents to make the push for playoffs.
The Warrior Softball team ended with a league record of 5-5, making it into the playoffs. The team was blessed with several standout players like seniors Malaya Ruacho and Nellie Lujan, but it took more than just these two Warriors to pull out of a losing streak, it took a combined mindset of wanting victory that played a huge factor in their run to get into playoffs.
Sadly, the journey ended on May 18 with a loss to Caruthers.

On Thursday, May 5, the Fresno High Boys Volleyball team had their last official game. It was a playoff event against Sunnyside, which they unfortunately lost. With their season concluding their final record was 18-9 overall and 11-3 in the league. The winning percentage of the team finished at 0.67%.
The team’s best game was against Edison High School because the boys believe it was their most well-deserved win. In this match they ended up playing all 5 sets with the final score ending at 16-14. The team's rival school was Reedley because they were the strongest and after playing them multiple times, the team finished their last round victorious.
One of the biggest challenges for the team this year was being short of players. Having a small team meant reusing the same lineup for every game and this was hard on the team individuals. However, everyone put in the work and the team was able to push through with what they had.
The group of coaches was dedicated to making their team the best it could be, and they ensured all their players were pushed to be the strongest they could be. Junior Gabriel Ramirez said the best piece of advice his coaches gave him was, “Don’t let the little things get to you.”
Overall Coach Keomanyvanh believes this is one of the best teams he’s ever had and that compared to last season, this year was a huge turn around after not winning a single game. Along with the support of the coaches, the boys volleyball team also had the support of their manager Natalie Crom who was previously on the girls team and had a passion for the sport.
As well as supportive coaches and managers, boys volleyball also had very supportive teammates. On April 26, the team hosted and appreciated their senior team members with the traditional sport's senior night. The seniors this year were Leonardo Medel, Tony Her and Lukas Xiong and Joshua Quinonez who were also this year's team captains
