I Am NOT Okay With This — The Fresno High Owlet Online

One of my biggest obsessions must be the TV adaptations of Charles Foresman’s books. Recently I binged I Am Not Okay With This on Netflix once again. I became interested when the actor I had been fixated on, Wyatt Oleff, announced he was starring in the 7-episode series in 2020.

I knew I loved Foresman’s characters after I watched another one of his adapted comics that was released in 2017.

Syd, the main character, was someone who I could really relate to. She is a very blunt person who has a hard time controlling her emotions. Yet, she’s usually able to focus on tranquil emotions with the people who understand her. She, I feel, is just like me in these ways. With Stan, Syd’s “sidekick”, I relate to him because he is kind, funny, and loyal to his friends. My connections to these characters made the story even more interesting.

I loved to watch this series and so did my cat, Luna! When watching I Am Not Okay With This, she watched it with me either on my lap or next to me through the entirety of every episode!

I recommend this series to anyone who doesn’t like the typical cliché high school TV show. The ending

will leave you mind blown!
