Dear Future Senior
With this school year getting closer to my last, trying to make my mark here is very important for most, yet the least of my worries. With planning these things as an eleventh grader, time is running out, and there are only so many events I can take part in and clubs I can join. Making your own mark is a very big accomplishment, and it is made differently within students, big or small, it is all accomplishments we should all celebrate. One thing I’ve learned within my two and a half years of being here, is that stressing about having everyone on campus knowing who you are, beating yourself up for not being valedictorian, or not being able to win the label of being class president is not worth it what-so-ever. Winning the card of peaking at a young age is an overrated thing, and letting yourself learn and understand that is an accomplishment in itself.
Making my senior year count, to me, is learning from my failures and using it as a way to make my upcoming adulthood easier for me. Making my senior year count, to me, is keeping to myself and protecting my peace to not make these stressful years even worse. Making my senior year count, to me, is becoming more independent, so when my senior year is over, I can accomplish my real dreams and aspirations in life by myself.
