Dexter is one of the best if not the best TV shows

If you haven’t watched Dexter, you need to watch it then read this and see if I’m wrong or not. Actually, let me rephrase that only watch until season 4 because after that it kind of goes downhill. 

Dexter is a show about a blood spatter analyst for the Miami Metro Police Department who leads a secret life as a serial killer with a code for who he kills. The show follows Dexter as he struggles to keep his secret from his sister, his girlfriend, his coworkers, and the rest of Miami. 

One of things in the show that makes me really like it are the villains in each season and how they all have a background and add to the story throughout each season and episode. 

Each character in the show also has their own little sub stories as well which add to the main plot of the show as well. 

Let me come back to the villain's part of the show. Basically, this is the reason I think Dexter is the best TV show, the first season has the ice truck killer which is a huge mystery in the beginning of the season then towards the end you know who he is but none of the other characters know which is keeping you on the edge of our seat wondering what will happen next. In the end, Dexter kills the ice truck killer who is also his biological brother. In this season Dexter learns why he is a serial killer and what caused him to be that way. 

In the second season, the audience focusses James Doakes, who is one of his coworkers who starts to catch on to what Dexter is doing on his free time (killing people). The whole season is just a twist and turn because you don't know if he’ll catch him or not.  

The third season has Dexter making friends with some guy and he learns that he is a serial killer and tries to work with Dexter. But in the end Dexter kills the guy because he has gotten evil and is killing people without a reason and that don't fit Dexter’s code. 

The best season is season four. Forget about all the past antagonists. They were all trash compared to season four's antagonist. This guy is like the best one, he is another serial killer that has been killing for longer than Dexter and is more experienced and he holds a stable life. Basically, Dexter becomes friends with the guy and learns all about how he lives and what he does to keep his secret safe. This is ironic because in the end this killer kills Dexter’s Wife and Dexter kills him too. After this the other seasons are just kind of mehh. But this season is the best because the story in this one is just so complex and has so many parallels between each character and how they all interact in the show. 

This is why Dexter is the Best TV show. The season four finale has the hardest quote ever, “I wonder if Rita is looking at this same moon, at this same moment? I like that, connected by light.” This just sums up season four because what happens before and after this quote is just the best part of the season.
