Music

Music is the most annoying thing in the world, am I right?

I’m just playing, don’t hate me. Music can be one person’s therapist and another person’s hype man. I use music as a way of expressing myself and translating my feelings in a creative way instead of just talking. Music also allows me to feel good about my creative process and creative thinking.

I started out writing lyrics around third grade because my dad got tired of me rapping the songs I liked. He told me to make my own. I wasn’t good at it at the time, so I gave up. I picked it back up in middle school after my therapist suggested writing. I wasn’t good at the time, and I knew, so did my friends, but I wanted to prove to them I could be good.

I kept at it and ended up getting better. I read books to improve my vocabulary and picked random beats to improve my style. A couple people tell me that they play my music a lot and every time I show somebody my lyrics they can always relate. It also motivates me to motivate others. Music shows everyone’s personal side, my side is on display.

I dropped my therapist for music.
