New Year's Resolution

I do not tend to make New Year’s Resolutions because I believe in living in the present and letting the future deal with itself or dealing with it when it comes. This past year though, I did make one. I told myself to make sure that my faith in God stays strong and to make sure it gets stronger, so I started reading the Bible and following what I knew when I knew it.

Life gets hard and you do not know what to do or things do not make sense. There is always this confusion which I try to figure out. But for some reason, I was getting a sense of an end coming. Death has always been around me, but lately hearing about it was not sitting right with me anymore. It really got me thinking about how you never know when you are going to leave this world. I want to make sure I am right with Him wholeheartedly before I leave here.

As I was sticking to my resolution, I started noticing the blessings. I can enjoy little moments suddenly. My thoughts are clearer, and my confidence is stronger. I am not stressed when I fully commit to Him and even in tough situations, I see the better side of it. It is a big weight off my shoulders when I try my best to live for Him. I pray for forgiveness and mercy on my soul but through Him may He allow me to do the same with my peers and may His plans prosper through us in Jesus’ name. Amen.
